The invention relates to square, rectangular and curved modules made from metal sections, preferably structural industrial aluminium having a square and grooved cross-section, and interconnected by pairs of hinges located on the front and rear faces of the modules so that they can be folded in relation to one another in a zigzag manner, and lock screws can subsequently be installed and turned in rivet bushes provided in the modules, conferring the necessary stiffness in order for the structure to be maintained in the vertical position. The invention is used to produce structures for advertising and displaying products, such as exhibition furniture and stands. For an item of exhibition furniture, such as a counter at a fair, a structure is assembled using lock screws in rivet bushes and the screws and bushes secure the rigid base disposed in the upper portion of the structure in order to form an item of furniture. The structures are covered with rigid base sheets, such as polystyrene, acrylic, polycarbonate or fabric, digitally printed with elements of the company's corporate identity and photos representing same; thereby optimising the construction and installation time for stands in exhibition halls, since the structures are portable, require no additional tools, and can be reused and reconfigured.

The breakdown of plant biomass having a high lignin content using the Pleurotus ostreatus fungus allows the conversion of 36-42% of said biomass into edible mushrooms of high nutritional value, the remaining 58-64% being a plant biomass massively invaded by the structures of the fungus and in which the lignin has broken down by 90-99%. This natural process has been optimised by means of potentiation of the inoculum, stimulation of the degradative enzymes and control of factors such as oxygenation, moisture and light, thereby facilitating the colonisation by the fungus and limiting the conditions necessary for contamination. This optimisation dispenses with the use of growth promoters, antibiotics or complex methods, allowing the production of mushrooms suitable for human consumption that include a high protein index (25-34% of the dry weight, 18-23% animal protein and 7-11% vegetable) and an enriched compost suitable for use in farming. This process, which is 100% organic, provides an environmentally friendly and effective solution to the problem of hard-to-break-down agroindustrial waste, such as, for example, waste from the African oil palm (Elaeis guineensis) sector.

The invention relates to a method for modifying an asphalt binder using, as an additive, a nanocomposite of: functionalised multi-walled carbon nanotubes dispersed in a styrene-butadiene-styrene polymer matrix (SBS/MMWCNT). The asphalt modified with the SBS/MMWCNT nanocomposite has substantially improved mechanical resistance to deformations and to loads at high temperatures, such that the life of the flexible paving is improved. The asphalt mixtures produced with this novel modified asphalt binder have considerably less rutting, are classified as high-modulus asphalt mixtures when produced from asphalt of medium (60/70) or greater hardness, and are not sensitive to moisture effects.

The invention relates to a biometric validation method that is initiated when a person to be identified makes a biometric authentication request by introducing his/her PIN into an electronic device. The request is made through an authorisation centre which receives both the PIN introduced and the code that identifies the fingerprint capture and encoding device to be activated. Upon receiving this information the activation request is sent from the centre to the fingerprint capture and encoding device. Once the print has been captured, a print template is obtained, which is then encrypted and sent to the centre where it is compared with reference templates. Subsequently, the centre sends a corresponding positive or negative authentication signal to the person that made the request. The method can be used for biometric validation using a biometric terminal equipped with means for communicating directly with the centre without any additional software or hardware being installed in the electronic device that requires the biometric identification.
