A process is described which uses whole cell preparations, immobilized or without immobilization, of a microorganism, including Aureobasidium pullulans, capable of forming enzymes of the group of fructosyltransferases, for catalyzing a reaction between sucrose and 6-0-protected glucose for formation of 6-0-protected sucrose, an intermediate in synthesis of trichlorogaiactosucrose. 6-0-protected Sucrose is separated from high molecular weight by-products of the reaction having molecular weight of 500 daltons and more by reverse osmosis, and further purified by column chromatography.

A process of production of trichlorogalactosucrose is described in which deacylation of sucrose-6-ester is achieved by subjecting the reaction mixture after chlorination, neutralization and adjustment of pH to 6.5 to 7 to deacylation by using a lipase or a protease, in a free or in an immobilized form.

This invention relates to a process for selective capture, isolation and purification of chlorinated sucrose compounds, including chlorinated sucrose, their precursors and derivatives, including trichlorogalactosucrose (TGS), directly from chlorinated reaction mixture by column chromatography on adsorbents and under conditions which result in specific and selective affinity towards one or more of chlorinated sucrose compound. The process also integrates de-esterification of chlorinated sucrose esters adsorbed on the adsorbent while they are being treated with desorbent. The process also provides a novel approach to concentration and crystallization of TGS. The chlorinated sucrose derivatives, including TGS, thus isolated are substantially free from most impurities, salts and organic solvents. The process has high recovery of more than 95% in terms of desired chlorinated sucrose derivatives including TGS.

The inventive ventilation and air-conditioning system for a passenger railway vehicle comprises a conditioner which is arranged in a vehicle ceiling space and provided with pipes for sucking in external and recirculated air and a pipe for supplying an air treated by the conditioner to a central supply air duct, which is mounted in the vehicle ceiling space along the length thereof and comprises an output opening for supplying air to each compartment. Said system is provided with an air-disinfecting device which is used for removing microorganisms and viruses is placed in each compartment near the central air duct output and/or in the vehicle passage near a discharge air duct input. The air disinfecting device is embodied in the form of a rigid body made of a dielectric material and shaped in the form of a flat parallelepiped provided, in the body thereof, with m channels which are positioned on the same plane in parallel to each other and comprise an electrode system and an electrostatic precipitator arranged therein, wherein said precipitator comprises oppositely charged electrodes which are in series arranged across the flow and separated by dielectric plates and said electrodes and plates are made of a highly porous material.

A process is described wherein after formation of first crop of Vilsmeier-Haack reagent by reacting Phosphorus Pentachloride with N,N-dimethylformamide to form a first crop of Vilsmeier reagent as insoluble crystals, a by-product of this reaction, the Phosphorus Oxy-Chloride, reacts with N,N-dimethylformamide to give a second crop of Vilsmeier reagent. This second crop of Vilsmeier reagent is soluble in DIV1F. This process makes it possible to double the yield of chlorinated substrate, such as sucrose-6-acetate or sucrose-6-benzoate, from the same quantity of Phosphorus Pentachloride.

A method is disclosed for regioselective synthesis of sucrose-6-acetate via formation of a novel sucrose-tin adduct using sucrose and DBTO. The inventive method for reconditioning a household ion-exchange cassette for filtering a drinking water and device for removing nitrates from drinking water relate to water filter cleaning and to cleaning, regenerating and disinfecting ion-exchange fillers. The method for reconditioning a household filtering cassette consists in regenerating the cassette ion-exchange filler by filtering a 10 % table salt solution and in disinfecting by boiling water, wherein said reconditioning is regularly repeatable at least one time each two weeks. The inventive drinking water ion-exchange filter comprises a container provided with brackets and a funnel, which is arranged thereon and has an opening for receiving a cassette. Said cassette and the filler thereof which occupies the entire volume of the cassette are made of a heat-resistant materials withstanding a temperature of at least 100 °C. Several hard balls made of an inert material are placed in the ion-exchange filler. The container can be provided with a heating element. The device for removing nitrates from water consists of said filter, a cylinder for measuring a salt quantity and a nitrate sensor.
