The invention relates to a system that remotely administrates the functions of measurement, reading, connection, disconnection, control and monitoring of the electrical energy supplied to the subscribers of an energy distribution network. The system is formed by three large components: 1) a control centre that allows the operator of the system to control the actions and monitor the events on the network; 2) controlling cabinets which, by means of the electronic components thereof, split into computer and peripheral module, interact with the control centre in order to administrate the supply of electrical energy to the subscribers; and 3) monitoring boxes that allow the subscribers to observe their consumption and allow the administrative body to check the correct calibration of the energy measurement. The system is provided with electronic alerts that notify the control centre immediately when there is any type of violation or event in the controlling cabinets or in the monitoring boxes.

The invention relates to a battery charging method comprising the following steps consisting in: (a) charging the battery for a pre-determined unit charge time and, subsequently, stopping the charging process; (b) measuring the voltage charged in the battery once a stabilisation period has elapsed, said period being measured from the moment at which the battery charging process was stopped in step (a); (c) determining if the voltage difference between the measured current voltage of the battery and a voltage measured just before is within a pre-determined reference value while steps (a) and (b) are repeated; and (d) stopping the battery charging process after steps (a), (b) and (c) have been repeated until the voltage difference is within the reference value for a pre-determined number of times. In this way, the invention provides a method and system for charging a battery, in which the current voltage charged in the battery is measured while the battery is being charged, such that the battery charges completely and in a stable manner.
