(EN)A communications apparatus (200) comprises a processing resource (202) arranged to support, when in use, a main application (276) and a user interface (272, 278). The apparatus also comprises a data store (214, 280), and a user interface host entity (272, 278) arranged to access, when in use, a user interface template (140) selectable in response to a received message. The user interface template (140) comprises a predetermined expression of a number of user interface elements (316). The user interface (272, 278) is arranged to translate the user interface template selected from the predetermined expression of the number of user interface elements into a user interface instantiation (342, 344).
