(EN)Systems and methods are described that facilitate refueling a vehicle (20) with electrical energy by targeting receiver (30) thereon and pointing a high-intensity laser source (70) at the receiver (30). Vertical multi-junction (VMJ) photocells (60) receive the laser energy and convert the laser energy into electrical energy. The laser source (70) can operate at a range of output power levels depending on the vehicle's energy needs. The laser source (70) can be a pulsed or a continuous near- infrared laser source. A heat exchanger (180) can be coupled to the receiver (30) to dissipate laser energy not converted into electrical energy. If the vehicle (20) has a propeller, the heat exchanger (180) can be mounted to the vehicle (20) in the propeller wash path.
(FR)L'invention porte sur des systèmes et des méthodes permettant le ravitaillement d'un véhicule (20) en énergie électrique en en visant un récepteur (30) sur lequel on dirige une source laser de forte intensité (70). Des photo cellules (60) à multi-jonction verticale (VMJ) reçoivent l'énergie laser et la convertissent en énergie électrique. La source laser (70) peut fonctionner à plusieurs niveaux de puissance selon les besoins en énergie du véhicule. La source laser (70) en IF proche peut être pulsée ou continue. Un échangeur thermique (180) peut être fixé au récepteur (30) pour dissiper l'énergie laser non convertie en énergie électrique.
