Abstract:

(EN)Evaluating human central nervous system neuron health by (a) administering to a patient a population of molecular complexes comprising (i) a polypeptide capable of activating neuronal endocytosis, axonal transport, and synaptic transfer, and (ii) an imaging agent suited for determining location and evaluating neuronal transport of said molecular complexes, within said patient, and (b) using at least one imaging method to determine location and evaluate neuronal transport of said molecular complexes, within said patient.
(FR)Cette invention se situe dans les domaines de la médecine et de la neurologie et concerne des procédés et des agents servant au diagnostic et au suivi précoces de la maladie d'Alzheimer et d'autres troubles neurologiques. Cette invention concerne plus particulièrement un procédé permettant d'évaluer l'état de santé des neurones du système nerveux central chez un patient humain, ce procédé consistant : (a) à administrer à ce patient une population de complexes moléculaires comprenant (i) un polypeptide capable d'activer l'endocytose neuronale, le transport axonal et le transfert synaptique ; et (ii) un agent d'imagerie permettant de déterminer la position et d'évaluer le transport neuronal de ces complexes moléculaires dans le corps du patient ; et (b) à utiliser au moins un procédé d'imagerie pour déterminer la position et évaluer le transport neuronal de ces complexes moléculaires dans le corps du patient.
